Road work: bridge construction, paving, grading is listed at I-229 from 0.50 mile north of Western Avenue-Exit 2 to 0.25 mile south of East Twenty-sixth Street-Exit 5, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation's traveller-information feed.
The feed gives the route as I-229, the reference milepost as 4.362 and the affected direction as Both Directions.
The feed publishes a listed start of 2026-03-30T13:00:00.000Z and no listed end — the feed publishes none for this record, which is how it represents work scheduled until further notice. Times are given in UTC as converted from the feed's own numeric timestamps.
Whether this work is currently underway is not stated in this text, deliberately: it depends on the time you are reading, so 605Buzz computes it from the dates above each time the page is loaded rather than storing an answer that would go out of date without anyone noticing. The status shown at the top of this page is the computed one.
The feed publishes coordinates of 43.51143255, -96.72739994 for this record. Those are the department's own figures, reproduced as published; 605Buzz does not geocode.
The department's own description of the work, reproduced without changes as published in the feed:
The following road construction project is in progress: bridge construction, grading, and paving with lanes reduced to 2, speed limit 55 mph, traffic routed to opposing lanes, and truck speed limit 55 mph until further notice. I-229 Northbound On and Off Ramps Are Closed at Exit 4 for the 2026 Construction Season. The project includes the reconstruction of exit 4 (Cliff Avenue) with added lighting, signals, and mainline Interstate work. The Interchange will be reconstructed as a Single Point Urban Interchange. This project includes two structure replacements. I-229 at Minnesota Avenue will have shoulder widening and a temporary bridge installed for a future project.
That paragraph is the department's wording at the time this record was last read, including any dates or restrictions inside it. 605Buzz does not rewrite it, and a detail inside it can be superseded without the surrounding fields changing.
The feed links dot.sd.gov/construction-projects/mitchell-region/sioux-falls-area/interstate-229-exit-4-cliff-ave-reconstruction/ for this project.
605Buzz has not independently verified conditions on this road. Schedules change with weather and contractor progress, and the department is the authority; check SD511 before travelling.
This record comes from the South Dakota Department of Transportation's public traveller-information feed, served through its vendor's content network. Neither host publishes a robots.txt or terms-of-use page, so no access directive exists either way; 605Buzz reproduces the department's own fields with attribution and does not claim a licence nobody granted.
