Following a public record
605Buzz re-reads the records behind these articles on a schedule. If you follow something a record states — a road, a town, a permit number, an employer — you get an email when the body that published it changes that record, or publishes another one naming the same value.
605Buzz is not sending these emails yet. Everything that decides who may be emailed is built and switched off. Your subscription is stored as pending and nothing at all is sent about it — including the message asking you to confirm it. When sending goes live you will get that one message first, and nothing until you answer it.
Why you pick a value instead of typing one
The options under an article are the exact words the record uses. That is deliberate: the state publishes a closure as I-90 mile 3, so a subscription typed as I-90 would look perfect and never match anything. Rather than guess what you meant, 605Buzz offers what the record actually says.
What you cannot follow
That field names a street address, a map coordinate, or a party who may be a private individual, so 605Buzz will not put a standing alert on it. The records these articles come from name people and places that did nothing but appear in a filing, and a standing alert on somebody's doorstep is a different thing from following a road, a town, a permit or an employer. You can follow any of those — and a value that reads as a street address is refused whichever field it arrives in, so this is not a spelling to get around.
That value reads as a street address — a house number and a street, a PO box, or a platted lot — and 605Buzz does not put a standing alert on a doorstep, whichever field the address was published under. Some listings state an address where a venue's name was expected. The rule reads the shape of the value, so it also refuses a public building whose record gives it as an address; watching that place by its name, its town, or the road it sits on works, and none of those is somebody's front door.
