Road work: loose rock, paving, uneven lanes is listed at SD-11 from 11 miles north of Junction South Dakota 48 to 15 miles south of Junction US 18 East near Canton, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation's traveller-information feed.
The feed gives the route as SD-11, the reference milepost as 18.628 and the affected direction as Both Directions.
The feed publishes a listed start of Sept. 18, 2026, 8:51 a.m. MDT / 9:51 a.m. CDT and no listed end — the feed publishes none for this record, which is how it represents work scheduled until further notice. Each is one instant shown in both of South Dakota's zones — Mountain first, Central second; they are the same moment. The feed names a route and not a zone, so 605Buzz does not pick one for you.
Whether this work is currently underway is not stated in this text: it depends on the time you are reading, and the department is the authority.
The feed publishes coordinates of 43.04792354, -96.62807512 for this record. Those are the department's own figures, reproduced as published; 605Buzz does not geocode.
The department's own description of the work, reproduced without changes as published in the feed:
The following road construction project is in progress: loose rock, paving, and uneven lanes with delays 15 minutes, flaggers, lanes reduced to 1, pilot car, and traffic routed to opposing lanes until further notice. Asphalt surface milling and resurfacing from the south edge of Alcester to the intersection of SD46. Traffic will be maintained on a milled/grooved surface with flaggers and pilot car when work performed. Bridge End work prior to resurfacing, traffic will be maintained with stop and go over a one lane bridge. Watch for turning trucks. Reduce speed
